I received a failed payment alert

Updated yesterday

I received an SMS or payment alert email from failed

if you received this message, is that the transaction could not be completed: by trying to renew your subscription for the coming month, we encountered an error with your credit card. Fix it quickly so you don't lose your subscription.

🏦 Most common payment errors

  • Payment card expired: please provide another card

  • Payment limit reached or lack of funds: you can increase your payment limit, managed directly from your bank app

  • Request bank to re-authenticate your card in 3DSecure: in this case, you received another email with a link to validate it. It will show you a simplified page with a single button to click to restart payment.- Country Restrictions: Payments may fail if your card is issued in a country not supported by Sharesub's banking partner. Both one-time and recurring payments can be rejected due to this.

  • Incorrect Residence Information: Payments may fail if there is a mismatch between the address provided during account setup and the actual billing address or card issuing country.

  • Incomplete Accounts: Payments might be rejected if your Sharesub account is incomplete or fails basic compliance checks.

For detailed steps and assistance, refer to the Sharesub Payment Management Guide. If the problem persists despite following these steps, please contact Sharesub's customer support for further assistance.

👉 To fix this issue

  1. Log in to Your Sharesub Account: Navigate to the cards page and add a new payment card. If you prefer using the same card and have sufficient funds, you can re-submit it to restart payment.

  2. Verify Address Information: Ensure the address registered on your Sharesub account matches your actual residence and the address linked to your card.

  3. Check Card Issuance: Confirm your card is issued in a supported European country.

  4. Complete Your Account Setup: Verify all necessary details are submitted and compliant with Sharesub’s terms and policies.

  5. Add an Alternative Card: While waiting for your main card renewal, you can temporarily use another card, which can be deleted once submitted.

  6. Seek Third-Party Help: In exceptional cases, consider using a trusted third party's card, but ensure it is removed after use.

⚠️ Warning: If payment is not successful, the subscription owner will be informed of this, and you will be removed from the subscription. This is as difficult for you as it is for the owner of the subscription that is then required to change the passwords, or change the subscription. In some cases notably (Spotify, Youtube...), you cannot change groups several times a year.
